Privacy policy

This policy explains what data NebulaMath processes and how. In short: NebulaMath is a free tool that runs entirely in your browser — there is no account to create, no forms to fill in, and the analytics we use set no tracking cookies.

Data controller

The data controller is the NebulaMath project. For any question about privacy or data processing, you can reach us at hello@nebulamath.com.

What data we process

NebulaMath requires no registration, no sign-in and no forms, and it does not collect data that would directly identify you. We process only: (1) anonymous, aggregate traffic statistics (see the cookies and analytics section), and (2) standard technical data that your browser sends to the server on every connection (such as IP address, browser and device type, date and time) — processed transiently by our hosting provider to deliver the site and keep it secure. If you email us, we process your email address and the content of your message in order to reply.

Purposes and legal bases

We process technical data to deliver the site and to keep it stable and secure, based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We build aggregate visit statistics to understand how the site is used and to improve it — also based on our legitimate interest; because the analytics is anonymous and uses no cookies or other identifiers, it does not require your consent. We process email correspondence to answer your message (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Cookies and analytics

NebulaMath uses no tracking or marketing cookies and does not profile users. We store only one strictly necessary functional cookie (NEXT_LOCALE) that remembers your chosen language — it is essential for the site to work and, under the rules, requires no consent. For visit statistics we use Cloudflare Web Analytics — a cookieless tool that stores nothing on your device and does not identify individuals. It collects only aggregate, anonymous information such as page views, referrer, approximate country, device and browser type, and page performance metrics. Because we set no tracking or marketing cookies, we display no cookie consent banner.

Data recipients

We do not sell or share your data for marketing. Technical and statistical data is processed on our behalf by trusted providers: Vercel Inc. (hosting and content delivery) and Cloudflare, Inc. (CDN, DNS, visit analytics, and forwarding email sent to hello@nebulamath.com). These providers process the data only to the extent needed to provide those services.

Transfers outside the EEA

Our providers (Vercel, Cloudflare) are companies based in the United States, so technical data may be processed outside the European Economic Area. This takes place under the safeguards provided by the GDPR — Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission — ensuring your data is protected to a standard consistent with EU law.

Retention period

Aggregate visit statistics are retained in Cloudflare Web Analytics for a limited period set by the service (on the order of a few months), after which they are deleted or kept only in aggregated form. Technical server logs are kept briefly by the hosting provider. We keep email correspondence for as long as needed to handle the matter it concerns.

Your rights

To the extent that we process your personal data, you have the following rights:

  • the right of access to your data and to obtain a copy of it,
  • the right to rectification (correction) of your data,
  • the right to erasure (the “right to be forgotten”),
  • the right to restriction of processing,
  • the right to object to processing based on legitimate interest,
  • the right to data portability,
  • the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Poland this is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).

To exercise these rights, write to hello@nebulamath.com. Please note that the data our analytics collects is anonymous and aggregate — we usually cannot link it to a specific person or single out your data, so some rights may be technically impossible to fulfil with respect to those statistics.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our tools or the way we process data change — for example if we introduce advertising in the future, or features that require storing data in your browser. The current version is always available on this page, and the date of the latest change is shown above.
